Almost a year ago in the New Millennium Minds blog we determined that the Can Spam law might a well not exist without rigorous enforcement of the act. Well, there seems to be more movement on getting serious about the law. At least the marketing of the act seems to have been stepped up a notch through a cartoon campaign. Well, it's a start, albeit about a year late.

The FTC also created a cartoon about phishing and email security risks. It has various different ways that somebody might try to phish for your information. I still prefer the simple way AOL phrased it many years ago.

"We will not ever, ever send you an email asking for personal, or account, information!" Or words to that affect. Nor will your bank, your work or your favorite chat room or blog for that matter. It is simple security, not eSecurity.
